The question of corruption

A key part of the political promise of Alianza PAIS was that it would sweep aside the corruption that it said had characterised previous elitist governments. Despite this, and not for the first time in recent Latin American history, a government that promised a crack-down on corruption has found itself having to answer critics that it, too, has been less than 100% clean.
