Bolivia: The economy minister, Mario Guillén, has presented the national legislature with a 2018 state budget proposal for B$274.9bn (US$39.78bn), up 3.5% on the budget approved for 2017. Guillén said that under the 2018 budget proposal, public investment would reach B$7.3bn, up 1.7% on 2017. The minister also said that the budget proposal was based on forecasts that GDP growth would reach 4.7% and inflation would close at 4.49% in 2018. The most recent (October) report by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac) is forecasting 4% economic growth for Bolivia for 2018 (unchanging from its forecast for 2017).
