Bolivia: Hydrocarbons Minister Luis Alberto Sánchez has announced plans to meet governors from the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná on 20 December to discuss new gas contracts with these regions. Bolivia and Brazil have in place a Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) which establishes a minimum sale of 24 mmcm/d and a maximum of 30.08 mmcm/d and which runs out in 2019. Back in May, Sánchez met governors of Brazil’s Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul states, respectively, along with business representatives from Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul, to discuss the possibility of Bolivia selling natural gas to these states from 2019. The announcement follows Bolivia's President Evo Morales’ visit to Brazil where he met his Brazilian counterpart Michel Temer and discussed integration, energy, and cooperation.
