In brief: Paraguay

Paraguay: The finance ministry has reported that the tax authority (SET) has collected G$13trn (US$2.31bn) in taxes so far this year, 10.2% more compared with the same period last year. According to the ministerial report, the result came thanks to increases in the collection of value added tax (VAT), personal income tax (IRPC), and business income tax (Iracis). The domestic economy has performed better than expected this year, with Paraguay expected to end the year with 4.2% GDP growth, on central bank (BCP) forecasts.
