There are few things Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez likes more
than playing an influential role as a seasoned statesman. But his latest foray
into international mediation breaks new ground. Barely seven months ago Colombia
and Venezuela were unable to resolve their own difficulties, but now Chávez and
his Colombian peer Juan Manuel Santos are showcasing their newfound cooperation
by working together to provide mediation for a third country - Honduras. It is a
bold undertaking but Chávez is uniquely placed to succeed in bringing Honduras
