*Canadian automobile parts manufacturer Magna has inaugurated a new 233,256 square-metre car body and chassis production plant in Mexico’s central San Luis Potosí state. In a statement the firm said that the new plant will produce chassis for global car makers BMW and Mercedes-Benz. It added that initially the plant will employ 400 people but that this will increase to 1,000 once it reaches full production capacity. With the San Luis Potosí facilities, Magna, which established its first production plant in Mexico in 1991, now has 32 production centres in Mexico.
