Ecuador’s Correa faces arrest over kidnapping case

Development: On 3 July Ecuador’s public prosecutor’s office announced that it had made a request to Interpol to have former president Rafael Correa (2007-2017) arrested in Belgium, where he currently lives with his family, for the purpose of extradition for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of former opposition deputy Fernando Balda in 2012.
