*The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has completed the review of its second mission to Argentina, paving the way for the release of US$7.6bn, the second tranche of the US$56.3bn Stand-By Agreement (SBA) that Argentina has recently agreed with the IMF. The leader of the IMF mission, Roberto Cardarelli, praised the Argentine authorities for their commitment to implementing the terms of the SBA, and said that data suggests that the 2018 fiscal target will be met. The mission review still needs to be approved by the IMF’s executive board for the funds to be released.
