* Carlos Montenegro, the executive manager of Bolivia’s state-owned lithium deposits managment company (YLB), has reported that a study of 64% of the salt flats of Uyuni (Potosí department) revealed the existence of a geographical reserve of 21m tonnes (t) of lithium. Montenegro explained that 50m-deep wells had been drilled in an area that covers 64% of the salt flats, which stand at 3,650m above sea level. He noted that in January 2018, previous reports had found there were 9m t of lithium in Uyuni.
