In brief: Brazil

* The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released its latest World Economic Outlook Report in which it has slightly increased its 2019 economic growth projections for Brazil, going against the wider trend of an economic slow down in emerging and developing countries. The IMF projects 2.5% growth for Brazil in 2019, up from projections of 2.4% last October. However, it estimates that the economy grew 1.3% in 2018, slightly below the 1.4% forecast in its October report.
