* A total of 529,500 jobs were created in Brazil’s formal employment sector in 2018, the first positive result since 2014. According to Rogério Marinho, the secretary for social security and labour at the economy ministry, the economic reforms including a labour reform adopted over the past year have contributed to this positive balance in formal job creation.
