The small leftwing Partido de los Trabajadores (PT), with 6 seats in the lower chamber of congress, has struck an alliance with the larger Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD), which has 95. This still leaves them heavily outgunned by the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) which has 224 seats, and the ruling Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), which has 153.
