In brief: Bolivia

* According to a report by local private sector lobby (IBCE), Bolivia registered a trade deficit of US$936m in 2018, down 4% on the US$970m registered in 2017. Bolivia’s total exports in 2018 amounted to US$9.06bn (up 9%) while imports totalled US$9.99bn (up 7%). According to the IBCE report, Brazil was Bolivia’s strongest trading partner in 2018 (accounting for 19% of Bolivia’s exports), followed by Argentina (16%) and India (8%).
