Poverty reduction but growing social inequality

Uruguay is one of the countries that has most reduced its poverty rates in the last 15 years. But despite this, the rich in Uruguay are becoming richer and the lack of social cohesion has led to an unprecedented level of crime in the country. The political class is starting to become more sensitive to this issue, either out of political self-interest or because it is something that requires urgent solution.
