* Chilean-Brazilian airline Latam Airlines Group has announced that it plans to invest US$300m over the next three years to expand its operations in Colombia. In making the announcement,
Roberto Alvo Milosawlewitsch, Latam’s senior commercial vice president, said that the aim of the plan, which involves the purchase of 12 new aircraft to service routes in Colombia, is to double Latam’s current 23% share of Colombia’s domestic air travel market by 2022.
Alvo added that the investment plan is in line with the Colombian government’s own objective for the domestic air travel market to increase to 100m passengers by 2030, from the current 38m, and that it would create 100 new jobs at Latam in Colombia.
