BRAZIL: Police admit limited results of federal intervention in Rio

On 3 April, the secretary of the military police (PM) in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state, Colonel Rogério Figueredo, admitted that the armed forces’ federal intervention into the state’s public security last year had had little impact on crime reduction.
