In brief: Nicaragua

* Nicaragua’s central bank (BCN) has released new figures which show that the country’s exports in the first two months of 2019 reached US$433.9m, down US$18m on the same period in 2018. The figures also show that imports reached US$756.3m, down from US$981.3m in 2018. Nicaragua’s main export markets were: the US, which accounted for 43.2% of the total, El Salvador (10.6%), Costa Rica (6%), and Taiwan (5.1%).
