* On 8 May, the General Council of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) accepted Ecuador's request for the withdrawal of Brazil’s blockade of Ecuadorean banana exports. Brazil imposed this blockade on 26 February 2019 based on a judicial and administrative decision. According to the Ecuadorian delegation, no scientific evidence was presented. The Brazilian delegation said it will maintain a dialogue with Ecuadorean authorities over whether to resume trade.
