On 17 May, Seuxis Paucias Hernández Solarte (‘Jesús Santrich’), a former commander of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) and peace negotiator, was released from prison in accordance with an order by the transitional justice system (JEP) only to be immediately rearrested by agents of the attorney general’s office.
