* Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has released figures which show that industrial production increased by 0.3% in April 2019 compared to the previous month. However, compared to April 2018, industrial production fell by 3.9%. The industrial sector has accumulated negative growth of 2.7% over the first four months of 2019.
