* Colombia’s President Iván Duque has announced that Colombia received US$3.3bn in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first quarter of 2019, a significant increase on the US$1.98bn received in the same period in 2018 and the highest amount for a first quarter since 2011. In his announcement, President Duque highlighted FDI in the manufacturing sector, which exceeded US$500m for the quarter, adding that the positive behaviour of FDI in Colombia is a sign of the country’s economic reactivation.
