PANAMA: Cortizo ends cabinet speculation

President-elect Laurentino ‘Nito’ Cortizo of the Partido Revolucionario Democrático (PRD) has unveiled his future cabinet ahead of taking office next month. Perhaps indicative of the PRD’s likely strength in the new 71-member unicameral legislature, there are few concessions to the opposition; rather it includes well-known figures from the PRD, some of whom served under the last PRD administration led by President Martín Torrijos (2004-2009).
