In Chile, President Sebastián Piñera is attempting to reverse his increasingly low approval ratings amid a slowdown in growth. Paraguay is feeling the impact of neighbouring economic crises as President Mario Abdo Benítez tries to keep his ruling Asociación Nacional Republicana-Partido Colorado (ANR-PC) in line.
