VENEZUELA-US: Washington builds 'terrorist' case against Chávez

From 1 October the US will formally cut off all sales of military equipment to Venezuela, making official the creeping embargo it has been applying through the obstruction of private supplies of spare parts and components, and via the exercise of its veto over attempts by third countries to sell Caracas military matériel that incorporates US technology. To take this new step it has found a rationale that makes the US government legally bound to act in this manner: the finding that Venezuela is 'not cooperating fully' with US efforts to fight terrorism.
