MEXICO | Drug-gang violence continues. Though the post-election impasse attracted most attention throughout July, it appears to have made little impact on the three-sided running war between rival drug gangs and between them and the authorities. Though Los Zetas, the gang of former special forces men employed as enforcers by the Gulf cartel, were involved in several incidents, several other drug-trafficking outfits were involved, and not all the incidents were related.
