* Brazil’s secretariat of economic policy (SPE), part of the economy ministry, has revised its 2019 GDP growth forecast downwards to 0.8%. The SPE had already revised 2019 GDP growth projections downwards in June to 1%, from 1.6% in May. During the presentation of the SPE’s latest macro-fiscal data, the treasury secretary, Waldery Rodrigues Junior, emphasised the importance of fiscal reforms, while the economic policy secretary, Adolfo Sachsida, stressed the need for reforms that will stimulate productivity and employment.
