* Mexico’s national statistics institute (INEGI) has reported a 2.1% decrease in industrial production during the month of May, compared to April’s figures, with a 6.2% fall in construction and a 1.3% fall in mining. In its annual comparison, industrial production fell by 3.1% in May, with construction contracting 9% and mining contracting 8.9%. May’s industrial activity was its biggest monthly decline since 2009.
