In brief: Chile’s tax-take up 16.2% to April

* Chile’s tax authority (SII) has released new figures which show that the tax take was up 16.2% in the tax year to April 2019 compared with the same period the previous year, to reach US$16.4bn. SII attributes this to a combination of economic growth, an increase in the First Category Tax (FCT) rate, and a higher average value of copper.
