* According to Colombia’s national tourism fund (Fontur), the Colombian government has invested Col$148bn (US$46m) during the first half of 2019 in projects aimed at boosting tourism in the country. There has been a 72% increase in projects since 5 February 2019, when nine projects were approved for Col$7bn. To date, 60 more projects have been approved, representing a total investment of Col$141bn. According to
Raquel Garavito, the president of Fontur, during the second half of the year, Fontur expects to make use of an additional Col$37bn, which will be distributed in three construction projects, namely in Charalá and San Gil municipalities, Santander department.
