João Doria reminded that Huawei already owns a factory in the city of Sorocaba, which employs 2,000 people directly and 15,000 indirectly. Huawei will also invest an undefined amount into technology and innovation research at the Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas (IPT). These new investments were announced during Doria’s mission to China, during which he also confirmed the opening of a São Paulo trade office in Shanghai.
