AI will shake up Central America’s labour market

Paid work is the primary source of income for most people around the world. Labour markets are supposed to match employers with workers, but maintaining a healthy labour market is not easy. Creating enough formal, full-time, stable jobs that fit the skills of the workforce is a constant challenge, and Central American economies face their own particular set of issues. Across the region, a combination of factors keeps a great many workers in informal, precarious employment, either under-employed or unable to find work.
