BRAZIL: Lula’s comeback?

After 580 days of waiting and campaigning, the wishes of Brazil’s leftist Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) and ‘Lula Livre’ movement were granted. On 8 November, former president Lula da Silva (2003-2011) left the federal police headquarters in Curitiba, Paraná state, where he had been serving an eight-year and 10-month prison sentence for corruption since April 2018.
