MEXICO: Controversial pension changes mooted
In early November, it was confirmed that the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), Mexico’s social security institute, and the federal finance ministry (SHCP) are working together to table a new pension reform proposal. There are few concrete details about what changes are planeed, but the authorities are reportedly considering several controversial measures, including the introduction of different retirement ages depending on race.
