In brief: Honduras approves 2020 budget
* Honduras’s legislature has approved a 2020 national budget for L282.4bn (US$11.5bn), up 7.9% on this year. According to a finance ministry statement, L30bn will go on education while L15.8bn has been earmarked for health. The statement adds that the budget increase “corresponds to national reality”, based on central bank forecasts of 3% annual GDP growth and 4.1% annual inflation in 2020.
