Argentina: On 11 December
Michael Kozak, Acting US Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, tweeted that he had a
“good meeting” in Buenos Aires with Argentina’s new President
Alberto Fernández for
“a constructive start to the relationship.” The tweet continues that the
“US looks forward to cooperation with Argentina on a range of key issues, foremost supporting democracy in the region and improving energy infrastructure”. Kozak was part of a US delegation to Argentina, headed up by Secretary of Health and Human Services
Alex Azar, to attend Fernández’s inauguration on 10 December. The delegation also included US ambassador to Argentina
Edward Prado and
Emma Doyle, Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Chief of Staff. According to a US State Department press release, the bilateral meeting between Kozak and Fernández was held to
