In brief: Venezuela’s ANC approves 2020 budget
* Venezuela’s national constituent assembly (ANC) has approved the state budget for 2020 for BS252.2bn (US$5.4bn according to the official exchange rate). The ANC was set up by the Nicolás Maduro government and has been given legislative powers but is not recognised as legitimate by the opposition. Presenting the budget Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said that 75.9% of the total will go on social investment.
