In brief: Mexico’s registers US$790m trade surplus in November 2019

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show Mexico’s exports in November 2019 totalled US$37.5bn, a 2.9% fall on November 2018. Meanwhile imports totalled US$36.7bn, a 10.3% reduction on the same month in 2018. This leaves Mexico with a US$790m trade surplus in November 2019, compared with a US$2.32bn deficit in the same month in 2018. As regards the figures for the first eleven months of 2019, Mexico’s exports totalled US$422.4bn, up 2.3% on the same period in 2018 while imports totalled US$419.7bn, a fall of 2.1%.
