In brief: Latest inflation figures in Costa Rica released

* Costa Rica’s national statistics institute (Inec) has released new figures which show the country closed 2019 with 1.52% inflation. This is down from the 2% registered in 2018 as per the latest figures from the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac). According to Inec, over the past decade, the highest inflation rate was registered in 2010 (5.82%), while the lowest was registered in 2015 (-0.81%).
