In brief: Brazil retail trade up in November

* Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has released figures for the retail trade sector, which show that sales grew 0.6% in November 2019, compared with October. The Ibge notes that this seventh consecutive monthly increase was driven by ‘Black Friday’ sales. Year-on-year, retail sales grew 2.9% in November 2019, with an accumulated increase of 1.7% from January to November compared with the same period of the previous year.
