Introduction

The first Regional Report: Mexico of 2020 analyses the progress that the Mexican government has made in its declared aim of reducing the high levels of violence. It also looks at some of the objectives achieved by the government’s economic policies. It has not made much progress in reducing violence. There has been more success in achieving economic policy objectives, but these have yet to boost the domestic economy.
