BRAZIL: Risk of shipwreck causes environmental scare

On 27 February, Brazil’s federal environmental regulator, Ibama, said that it had not found any evidence of leakage of pollutants in the sea, after a ship transporting iron ore bound for China ran aground off the coast of Maranhão state (Nordeste region) on the evening of 24 February.
