Caricom gets debt boost. Six members of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) were named by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank on 25 March among 76 International Development Association (IDA) countries to benefit from a suspension of debt payments as a result of Covid-19: Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. In a joint statement, the Bretton Woods twins called on “all official bilateral creditors to suspend debt payments from IDA countries that request forbearance…with immediate effect”.
