Inflation continues to trend down but remains high. The consumer price index rose by 45.6% year-on-year in April, Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) reported on 14 May. Despite being high, the April yearly inflation rate is lower than the 48.4% recorded in March and continues the downward trend that has been observed since January. The Indec report notes that the month-on-month variation in the inflation rate fell from 3.3% in March to 1.5% in April, the lowest monthly rate since November 2017.
