Guatemala which have erupted following an order by the constitutional court (CC) for the process of electing supreme court (CSJ) judges and appellate magistrates to be suspended. The CC’s ruling, which stemmed from doubts about the transparency of the selection process, led to a criminal lawsuit being launched against its members, backed by the legislature, and which has attracted widespread concern.
