* Venezuela’s civil aviation institute (Inac) has announced that it will extend air travel restrictions until 12 October. The restrictions were first implemented on 12 March as Venezuela reported its first cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) and, following previous extensions, was planned to end on 12 September. The Inac announced that
“in order to continue guaranteeing the security of the Venezuelan people”, the nation’s 12 international airports will remain closed to commercial flights but stated that cargo and mail flights, technical landings, humanitarian flights, repatriations, and flights authorised by the United Nations are exempt from these restrictions.
