The United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP) released its Human Development and Covid-19 in Mexico: Challenges for a Sustainable Recovery report on 14 July. The reports highlights that for the first time since 1990, Mexico’s Human Development Index (HDI), which comprises measurements of income, health, and education, is declining. The report also looks at the issue of gender, as the female population is more exposed to situations of vulnerability and discrimination which may be exacerbated by the coronavirus (Covid-19) health crisis.
