VENEZUELA: EU issues election ultimatum
On 30 September, the European Union (EU) told Venezuela's de facto government led by Nicolás Maduro that it will not send an electoral observation mission to Venezuela unless the legislative election is delayed beyond the currently-scheduled date of 6 December, and democratic conditions improved.
