CHILE: Anarchist bombings escalate to daytime attacks

Chile's New Year would have been ushered in with a bombing, had the detonating mechanism not failed. January, though, was punctuated by three bombings, all with devices similar to those used by anarchist groups in previous attacks, but not claimed by any of them up to the time of writing. One of the bombings claimed casualties; another was clearly intended to disrupt voting in the presidential runoff.
