JAMAICA: 'Dudus' surrenders to US as the safest option

Just over a month after an arrest warrant was issued against 'garrison' boss Christopher ('Dudus') Coke [SSR-10-05], police took him into custody. He was arrested at a police checkpoint on the Mandela highway between St Andrew and St Catherine on 22 June, as he was on his way to turn himself in to the US consulate in Liguanea, acting on advice from his lawyers, who had recommended that he waive his right to an extradition hearing. Within two days Coke was on his way to the US.
