MEXICO: Banks and businessmen blast dollar-buying bill
On 13 December the head of the ruling left-wing Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) bench in the senate, Ricardo Monreal, met the governor of the central bank (Banxico), Alejandro Díaz de León, and prominent bankers and businessmen to try and allay their concerns about a controversial bill approved by the senate last week requiring Banxico to buy excess dollars in the Mexican financial system.
